          Wow, that's a great one. I love them used like this. It's a nice thing about EK1s as opposed to EK2s that they were worn on the tunic in combat, so that when one turns up that looks like this one may imagine that it truly saw some action.

          Of all the many '1' stamps I've seen on Deschler crosses, this serif one is by far my favorite aesthetically. A real treasure.

                  Thanks everyone for the kind words. I noticed immediately that it has a different core compared to its EKII counterpart, which have (2) cores themselves - that I am aware of. The date is much different, and the swasi is of a lower profile. Very different, these Deschler EKI's. The pin assembly looks to be very rugged and built to withstand the rigors of wear, akin with the sturdiness of the '20'/'L/52' C.F. Zimmermann's and 'L/50' Godet's.
