    Schinkelform EK2 Help... Fake?

Today I posted a Schinkelform EK2 for sale on the estand. Shortly after I posted it George Stimson contacted me to recommend that we discuss this example on this forum before I try to sell it. He gave me some good information showing that it may very well be a reproduction. He was able to show an example that was posted on Detlev Nieman's site as a copy. The details of mine and the one George provided are VERY similar. George said that one of the key things to look for is the variance in width of the outer flanges - I see this on the lower part of the horizontal arms of my EK. I will post two scans of my cross and then post the image from Detlev's site that George provided.

Overall, George has provided me with some very valuable info. I'm interested in hearing what other EK specialists have to say as well. Also, I'm curious if any of you guys have seem these crosses around of late. Thanks in advance and thanks again George.

Hi Brian.... I am, by no means, an expert but have seen these "Schinkelform" crosses in both 2nd & 1st class and have always kept clear of them.. I post what I deem to be a classic "Schinkel" for comparison..

        Hope this helps...

Thanks for the feedback, guys. George was absolutely right.

This cross, and the repro "wide frame" I have pictured in another post are from the same place. I will see if I can return them to where they came from.

I got careless and didn't pay close attention like I should have. Thanks again for straightening these pieces out!!!

                Hey Guys,

I dont know that I have handled one of the reproduction Schinkelform crosses (or maybe I have ).

Do the frames on these reproduction crosses have the same finish as wartime crosses?
