    Two new EKll's today...

    Hello gentlemen,

I received two new EKII's in the mail today, but rather than tell you what they are I'll leave it up to you to identify them. Good luck, and be specific...

Of course, it's easy for Daniel.

Yes, Mark, it's your 'L/11'...to be more 'specific'.

Very nice, Robert. I like both these makers, although I have neither.

The '75' is just different looking, very distinctive. I am looking forward to getting one. I have in my personal notes that these may be made by Franz Breuning/Pforzheim or Franke & Co./Lüdenscheid . I'm not sure why I jotted that down. Is there any evidence to support either of these firms as the maker of the '75'?

The Deumer EK ... the date is very elegant, and the frame has excellent proportions. Just the right amount of flare, just the smallest rounding to the inner-beading corners. I can understand why Deumers are some collectors' favorite pieces. They are just outstanding. It's no mystery to me that the German authorities relied so heavily on K&Q and Deumer to supply them with their decorations; they're both well-made and beautifully designed pieces.

Now that the secret's out of the bag, may we see the marks please?

              Thanks,
              Best regards,
              Streptile

I recognized the L/11 Deumer right away, but I've always had trouble ID'ing those 75s. Nice crosses!

                  Trevor,

I've never heard anything regarding the maker of the '75', but I'll also write this down which you have brought to my attention. Yes, the Deumer has very nice features. Here's the maker mark of the '75'. I'll need to get the Deumer out again and photo the mark...

jt327gir, look to the dates on the crosses. The very odd '3' in the '75's date is the 'giveaway' as well as the curvature of the beading.

The Deumers are one of my preferred, I agree with Trevor, crosses are always very elegant. In my opinion great manufacturer.

                          Hi Robert,

Is the '75' ring unsoldered? Or is this common on '75' EKs? I have my eye on one that is open. The cross is obviously correct for a '75'.
                          Best regards,
                          Streptile

Both of my '75's have complete soldered rings.

Thanks Robert. Anyone else seen a '75' with an open ring?
