    Sara, if the cross is magnetic it will be very obvious - the magnet will stick to it and remain there when you say turn it around. If it just falls off, then it's not magnetic.

      Non-Magnetic!!

      Thanks Mr.Bianchi, that is also helpful. As you have read, I did query how strong the pull should be. In that case I am most definitely wrong, wrong, wrong and my cross is non-magnetic in all respects and therefore has a brass core!
