Help with Makers Please - Early EK2 & EK1

Hi Guys

I have just acquired these EKs as part of a grouping to a flyer with III./KG 3 and would very much appreciate the help of the experts in identifying the makers.

The EK2 is I believe the original medal awarded in September 1939. The award certificate has a note to the reverse stating it was awarded by Goring and the reverse of the parade mounted medal bears the date. The core is loose in the frame, as one might expect with early awards.
The core is non-magnetic. I also have photos of the award ceremony, so this all ties in nicely (I hope!).

The EK1 clearly has a brass core. I think this is the original award presented in 1940. The core on this is also loose in the frame. The award date of 6.10.1940 (i.e. October) is scratched into the reverse but not easy to see.

Any guidance would be most welcome.

There is cross-hatching in one corner. But, look at the webbed corners outside of the beading. This is a reworked W&L. The frame is void of the (3) Juncker die flaws.

'repaired' to restore/refurbish worn die. Restore may not be the correct word. The dies were beginning to breakdown, so they needed repair, reengraving to hide the old flaws.

Robert this is really interesting and informative - thanks for your expertise. Does reworking imply the award would not date from so early in the war (i.e. September 1939)?
