    Authentic DKiG?

I'm being offered this DKiG. It is claimed by the seller as authentic and looks fine to me. Feedback is appreciated.

Don't even bother getting a front picture, this is not an original Deschler DkiG

What is it that shows it's not authentic?

Well lets see, this is meant to be a four rivet Deschler DkiG right?

-on originals the hinge is on a seperate plate and not soldered to the reverse of the award, which from the burnt marks on the reverse of this piece can be clearly seen.
-rivets do not look correct, compare to originals
-it is hard to tell from the pictures but the makers mark does not look like what I would expect for this maker, although this could be the picture.
-the pin does not appear to feature the correct angle as it stems from the hinge, I cannot think of a better way to describe this, it is just plain wrong on this piece.

Look at some pictures of originals or handle the real deal and the difference is like night and day.

Thanks for all the info. It gave me a better insight. I am attaching another photo of another DKiG.

Am I right to say that this is also a copy. The pin is larger than the original 10 rivet example.

Yes this piece is wrong also, as you correctly point out the most obvious feature is the longer pin which also does not resemble an original pin found on the 10 rivet pieces.
Original 10 rivet pieces are very, very rare. I have yet to see an original for sale.

I believe this 10 rivet fake is currently on eBay by seller maxutaz (from Latvia).

                      Bugibbian,
Isn't this the same cross you posted here last November? Did you get the photos directly from Maxutaz?

                        Not Maxutas

Not Maxutas, but herold595. The one I posted in November was on International Militaria.

                        http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...ory=36047&rd=1

Maxutaz has his going at $404 (reserve not met)!!! Wow.

It's amazing I've seen ones I recognise as fakes on ebay starting at $700.

I'm still looking for my DKiG!!

All from the same Latvian and Indiana sources. The guy's like a Hydra, using various identities and ISP's.
