    Beveled edge 'light' R3

It has some odd inner beading, but she's still a beauty...

What a patina Robert! These early ones are so much better looking than the mint ones imo.

Has there been a maker found for this cross yet?

No maker yet, Robert. The frames are very distinctive, with some flaws, and that hump. But nothing yet.
                  Best regards,

Looking closer just discovered these multiple flaws along the 9:00 arm and part of the 3:00 arm...

It looks like the bottom of the 6:00 arm of the '333' fake.

Mine has the same Robert, i think they are what Douglas would call "reworked die flaws". They are old beadings not totally removed after the rework. This is a extension of the R3 core study, study the frames for similarities. Very interesting but totally impossible to prove that Deschler actually made all the R3's *wink wink*

As I read through the old and the current threads on the R3's I hear the same hints toward this theory. It's all new to me. I should have all of the types within the week, excluding the Schinkel-B, which will take some doing to find. After it I don't know where I'll venture; maybe into SB's or the one-piece Schinkels, like Jim and others.
