    Ekii '26'

Did Mayer make and mark their EKII's with '26'? Does anyone have an example to show here?

I've never come across one or seen one Robert. I bought an EK supposedly marked '26' a few years ago and - from certain angles it does look like a '26', however, from other angles it also looks like a '25'. I think I posted it ages ago but here is the makers mark from a few angles

      Thanks Adrian,

This is what I'm seeing on the cross in question. I've asked for closeup shots of the beading around the swasi to compare it to my '26' EKI. I HOPE it's a '26' EKII. It's on the official EKII manufacturers list, but it may have only been stamped with an 'L/18', I don't know. The photos will prove it out.

I'm comparing it to my EKI.....

Edit: Do you mean this is your '25', or an unmarked '26'?

This is the cross that belongs to the makers mark I showed in post #2.

Right. It's a match to my '25', but yours has more flaws. Man, I was about to take a dive backwards thinking you actually had an unmarked '26'! I'll probably have to wait until Monday to see the photos of the cross I'm hoping is a '26'.

It'll be good to see the pics Robert!
The cross above has many flaws compared to my other marked '25', it looked different which is why I took a punt at it - just in case......

I've only seen one ring marked "26", and it turned out to be a fake. Here is the link to the thread:

                      http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=287203

A cross like the one in the link would never fool me today, but I was new to EKs back then.

"L/18'...Good to know this, as Daniel has 20+ years on me I would suspect. Anyway, when the photos do come I'll post them for good reference material. Thanks to one and all for their tireless help.

I agree with you which the ring showed by Adrian is marked with "25".
At today I never saw a cross manufactured by B.H.Mayer, may be exists, but if it exists I think of date 1939 should be the same we know very well in the 1st class. Of course it 's not sure but with many possibilities.
