Thanks Thomas. Well, not much news on this one. I think it's a great frame design and decent core design, but no one knows the maker. I guess our best chance now is to find a marked one, either an EK1 or EK2, some time down the road.
    Best regards,

By the way, the core is loose in my example also. I think this explains the loss of paint to the swastika in the same exact areas on both crosses: the core bumps against the pointy inner beading corners.

The white spots around the edges of the core on my example are residue of silver polish, which was also clearly used on the frames, unfortunately.

Really, no one has any info on this one? Perhaps one that came in a marked packet?

I thought he wanted a full match or something that identifies the frame or core .

                  Thanks for posting that, Robert.

It sure is interesting, and I've not seen it before. I remember when mine was first posted Daniel sent me a PM saying he's seen a short-necked '3' before, but couldn't find it at the moment. I've always hoped he'd find it... but this is probably it, and it ain't a match

                  Oh well, let's keep looking!
                  Best regards,

                    Trevor,
As an aside and to answer the quote above, here is a link to this type of cross: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...hlight=odd+ek2 I would be interested in your take on it - as another mystery cross.....?
