Iron Cross with "thick frame and round 3'

I have seen an EK2 listed as "thick frame" with "round 3". It is more expensive than an Iron Cross EK2 with ribbon. Why? What is "round 3" and "thick frame"? I know it's original, and I know many versions were made. Why the signifigance?

    Cheers

The round 3 variant is much rarer then the normal Iron Cross 2nd class.
Round 3 means that the 3 in 1939 is round instead of the normal 3 wich is flat at the upper side.
