Iron Croos First Class without L

I am looking at a First Class Iron Cross from The Collectors Guild www.germanmilitaria.com
The code has the typical LDO type back slash mark but the "L" prefix is absent. The numerical code would indicate manufacture by Steinhauer & Lück Lüdenscheid. Is is common? Is it possible? Is it fake? Why no "L".

    Thanks

I have lot to learn about the L numbers and way of using it.
The cross looks ok and original to me.

    Cheers.

It is a good one, the L should be there, but it seems it is stamped in too weak where the L is.

          Thanks for the advice

Sadly, the cross was bought before I could strike a deal
