Opinions please on DKiG Marked "1"

    Hello Gentlemen,

I would like to hear any thoughts on this DKiG that I am considering. This one looks right to me, maker marked "1" for Deschler &Sohn .

    Look forward for some thoughts,

    Cordially yours,
    JD

The only thing that leaps out at me is the date, which seems sloppily struck. It looks like the "9" and the "4" are touching each other. (It could just be the picture? )

        Hi George ,

Here is a closer look at the date.

It almost appears as if the 19 and the 41 were struck at different times??
          Best regards,

Here's a photo of my GC Silver to compare. Looks like the example you posted is showing the 19 and 41 off each other as said above. Could be just illusion...

I do not believe that the 19 and the 41 were struck at different times as it is a wasted operation from a production and manufacturing view. However I do not like the date nor the pin. The pin looks as if the sides are too sharp. Also the many individual points of the outer star seem to lack crispness.

                Hi Joe,

personally I don't see problems around this early DK. every thing is okay.

I am with Ivan, I can see nothing that disturbs me or gives me pause.
                  A good ingredient, Chef!

I also think OK, the light on the 19 and 41 is different creating that illusion.

My only example is this late war "1" Deschler marked piece. The base star is zinc with a copper plating (which seems to cover the front of the star only?) on which there is a silver? plating. There may have been a matte frosting applied? the weight is 55 grams.
