Heck, the only thing that comes to mind is the recent innovation to have pistol safetys on both sides of the slide on a pistol. That said, they've never put a mag release on both sides.
That's not it. Unless the corporation's owner was a lefty, was forced to wear his sister's shirts growing up & decided to screw with the majority of German society there's got to be another reason.
