    L/50 or 20

I bought this cross off of the e-stand alittle over a year ago. It was sold as a "20" marked cross. Well, the mark was always very hard to read and I just assummed it was a 20 and never thought much about it until today. I had decided I would try and trade it so I took a tooth brush to try and clean the mark and make sure it was a 20 and I discovered what I believe is a L/50 mark. What do you guys think? The photo of the mark is the best I could do but it shows the location and I know for sure there is a L/5.
    Thanks!

    David,

I bet that that your cross is actually marked 'L/52'.

The 'L/50' crosses were typically marked beneath the catch whereas the '20' and 'L/52' crosses were marked (always?) on the reverse of the pin. Of course some, crosses can be found with both the '20' and 'L/52' marked on the reverse of the pin.

Regardless, you have a very nice cross.

Here's "L/52" stamped into the underside of a Zimmermann EK 1 pin -- along with the "20" mark also.

Thanks guys. I hadn't thought of L/52. I'll try and strain my eyes some more and see if there's a 2 there.

George, you're spot right on. I have a couple of those little plastic stands but couldn't find them so I grab the next closest thing.

HaHaHa, yes I do. I guess the Purple Heart case is just the right height. I seem to recall even using it underneath the velvet for photos also.
