Hi,
Just wondering, when the War Merit Cross 2nd Class w/ Swords was worn as a ribbon from the 2nd tunic buttonhole was a small bronze crossing swords device worn on the ribbon, like when on a ribbon bar?

Absolutely.

Some Heer paper announced that, when the KVK 2nd class with swords´ ribbon was worn, it had no swords on it; despite the clasp having it to make it distinguishable from the KVK 2nd class without swords.
