    question on DkIG in cloth..

    On this poor little guy with a removed swaz, is there someone who could correctly replace the swaz?

    Hi Bill,

    In Dietrich's new book on the DK he shows a progression of photos detailing the assembly process for these cloth DKs. My guess is that if you gave the book and the award to a very skilled tailor, he could do a wonderful repair job (especially as the back is already torn off -- would make re-stitching much easier).

    A second question is: maybe it's better denazified? It was possibly done by the original recipient (what other explanation could there be?) and is potentially an interesting piece of postwar German history.

    On another note, the wreath was not originally stitched to the back like that. Perhaps the original tabs broke?
