                  I have often wondered this:

A "Schinkelform" cross is defined as a 1939-series Iron Cross made up using leftover frames from the 1914-series crosses (usually by manufacturers hoping to save a Mark). If this is the case, how can there be 1-piece Schinkels?

I know these are called Schinnkels by dealers and collectors alike. But how can they fit the definition? Any thoughts?

Nice cross by the way, and congratulations!
                  Best regards,
                  Streptile

By using the term "Schinkelform" you answered your own question: they fit the definition by following the "Form", the design. The slender early design is what makes a Schinkel a Schinkel, to me at least...

Meaning the distance between the ribbing near the swaz? Looks kinda closer together or more narrow there to me. I have also been confused about this desirable type. The overall size is very close to my Deumer. John
