    KC case + unknown 'medal'

does anyone perhaps have an idea what kind of 'medal' could have been stored in this converted KC case??

The case looks to have some good features.

Looks like a post war case to me, so it could have been used/converted for anything.

Martin, look at the silk flap in the interior, it looks to be that stiffer synthetic post war type.

I had EK1 cases like this I bought from a coin shop to ship items, they were constructed EXACTLY like ek1 cases except the silk flap was made of a synthetic post war material. I have no idea why the company that made them did this. Mine also had an inlay simular to the one in your rk case pic.

          Hi,

that it is a case from the early DDR (GDR), e.g. for the medal for faithful service in the NVA.

Dimensions appr. 70 x 177.5mm, smaller than a KC case.

The upper indention is for the "Interimsspange".

          Regards
          Uwe
