    L/50 sb

    Just received this L/50 SB, of special note is the double stamp on the back. It appears whoever struck it wasn't happy and restamped. Please bare with me as I am on another computer that is without my software that merges photos for me. First up is a frontal shot. It measures;

    44.30 mm top to bottom
    44.41 mm wide

Looks pretty nice...whats the groove above the left upper arm ribbing...has anyone seen that before? details are nice and ive only seen one screwback in any vets stuff but couldnt pry it loose from him as he wanted to give it to his daughter someday , so i have none to compare, and his was vaulted. Interesting mark. congratulations . question : how much percentage wise in price is a screwback now days as compared to a pinback version?

              Sb

The price a an SB is anywhere between $350 - 450 for a common one and almost double for a rare, except the Schinkel SB which can cost over $1000.00. Jim

                Godet sb!

Godet makes a fine cross all the way around! Subtle and clean lines! Nice piece!

It's on nearly every arm of this cross, although not as pronounced. I hope it will show up in the upload...

                  Wonderful cross, Jim!

These aren't easy to find. Here's the one I was lucky to come across.

Those Godet fellas sure knew how to put together a beauty

That groove looks like something made from the brandishing tool?

Very nice Cross Jim! As a matter of fact all crosses posted are beauties!
Jim, Is the cross vaulted at all? Also would You mind posting photos of both sides of the disk?
Great find and I love the look of the date on these Godets with the dropped 1 and 9 making the bottom of the date look curved!

                            Kevin,

It is not vaulted and the disc that came with it is not original to the piece (Russian disc) thus I didn't post pictures. Jim

Very nice and interesting SB :
Russian disks , .. something new to me . Are they easy to identify .
Besides that a question I had about the front , if you could .
