Yes I understand Dietrich :
To correct an error in the above : A WW1 Vet -Hauptmann when he got his LDO EK1 and I actualy had to call him :'Herr Oberst ' !
Even more interesting to this is the fact that the EK2 I got from this same person was obtained in error (supposed to have been an Spange as he had a WW1 EK2) and retained illigaly and this was covered up by his then commanding officer .
A lower level award all the same ... some one was bending the rules .
