Zimmerman EK2 marked "20" on ring

I came across this cross and I know that "20" marked Zimmerman EK2s are unknown on this forum. This one seems suspicious to me but I thought I'd post the photos to see if it could stimulate a little discussion.

All I can say for sure is that the core is not an obvious match to the one Carl has, seen here and thought to be a Zimmerman, and that the mark looks a bit sloppy if not totally, ridiculously fake.

    Looks to me like it could be a postwar-marked "K+Q" (65) with core-type 1 (overhung "3").

Very interested in other people's opinions.

Looking for ROUND BUTTON 1939 EK1 Spange cases (LDO or PKZ)

My thoughts are that somebody has made a fair attempt at the maker mark, The two looks wrong for sure looking at other Zimmermann maker marks and the 0 a bit off also, I say a post war even recent maker mark IMO!
Thanks for sharing. The lower part of the 2 is very sharp where it makes the turn to the base..... The 0 is even all around unlike the 20 maker mark's zero.

You are right, Lets see what others have to say Streptile? I think You are right that it looks like a good 65! Dead on as for the core type! Again thanks for showing this, and if You do not mind telling Us which site is selling this cross, It is appreciated?

Original Klein & Quenzer with post war stamp.
I saw 2 or 3 "20" EK II's, but they were in standard design.
The problem is that Zimmermann used a distinctive EK I design and I would say if they produced EK II's then they used the same distinctive design like the EK I.

            My thoughts exactly Daniel,

Godet is a prime example. There has been much discussion on a particular EKII that has a date(s) that resemble a Zimmermann, slightly. It's frame is very different. My thinking has always been that if Zimmermann were to have made an EKII counterpart it would be as their EKI in design.

              Hello Robert,

I believe you had an unmarked EK II, which could be by Zimmermann.

Here it is Daniel. But, wouldn't the frame be as the EKI?

With all of the looking -- and not finding -- I'm beginning to get the idea that there is no C. F. Zimmermann EK 2. (It is a possibility, you know....)
