    small DKiG Group

    Hello,
i would like to show you this group which i recently bought at a german auction house. I get the group at a very decent price which makes me always a bit suspicious. I would appreciate all comments especially in regards of the originality of the DK. There are although some more papers like the divisions order etc.
    thx
    Detlev

I can see no problems with any of the awards, a great German cross grouping of a man who for sure did not missed out the combat fields!
                      Kind regards,
                      Giel

Without a doubt, the Ehrenblattspange document is by far the jewel of this group, very rare indeed!

                          Detlev,

You don’t say if your brave soldier was killed in action, but there is only one Horst Magnussen listed on the Volksbund site, and he is also Hauptmann.

All the documents shown are dated prior to his death: (28.09.1944).

Grenadier-Regiment 552 ( 329. Infanterie-Division) were fighting in the vicinity of his burial site at the time and got trapped in the Kurland Pocket until the end of the war…

A very interesting group, but this is all purely hypothetical.

                          Regards,

                          Robert

Horst Asmus Magnussen ruht auf der Kriegsgräberstätte in Cernjachovsk (Rußland) .
                          Endgrablage: auf diesem Friedhof

                          Insterburg / Cernjachovsk

thx for all the comments and especially for the additional informations from Robert. Indeed thats the one, he was killed in action in 1944. When i bought this group it was mixed up with another small group of a "Aufklärer". There were a lot of papers in which i found out that the widow of Magnussen married again after his death and this is the second group.
                              regards
