    EK2 mm55 opinions please!

Hi, received this EK today and I'm pretty sure it's OK, but I would just like some opinions.

It's 43mm and quite light compared to my other EK's and I was also wondering what the bubbling on the 1939 date is? Re-paint?

    Thanks

No problems with that one Will, an original example, the finish on the date looks awful!

I know! Is that just because of excess paint?

That would be my guess looking at the bubbles in the paint.

Might be a repainted core, however, im not 100 convinced.

The cross is good. The beading looks like its made from really worn out dies.... perhaps this is a very later war produced Hammer & Sohne EK2.. who knows... usually, the repainted cores i have seen are uneven and ugly... i do not think this is the case here, perhaps they just had a bad day. Who can say for sure anyway.
