EK2 Spange -----> Is this one good? Is a maker known?

    Hi Spangen Fans,

I am in need of am EK2 Spange and I am asking for opinions in this one, originality and maker, before buying. Sorry for the censored photos, they are the seller's.

I like the way it looks and think it resembles a 2nd-pattern version of one of these beauties.

The vertical prong position is something I'm unfamiliar with. Is this ok?

    Thanks in advance.

    ~Trevor

    Hi
I'm not a fan of second pattern L/12 spangen, but this is an example that is commonly regarded as authentic...

If I just wanted an example of a spange, I'd go for one that is 100% textbook authentic instead, like a mm'd L/11, there's alot around when you look
I'd leave L/12s to the 'advanced' collectors and gamblers

I think the prongs have just been twisted
    regards
    jon

      Thanks Jon,

I knew you'd have some good advice.

Just so I'm clear: the first pattern Spangen by this maker (Juncker) are both commonly accepted and accepted by you, but you're not so sure about the later 2nd patterns?

      Thanks

I wouldn't feel confident about advising another collector to buy a 2nd pattern L/12 EK2 spange. Some may be good, yes, and many say I'm overly careful/paranoid

        regards

Hard to be, in this hobby. Especially with Spangen: a minefield.

          Thank you.
