          Hello,
you can meet only numbers in an original ring (in the "Hersteller Präsidialkanzleiliste") so probably you have seen #124 or similar.
The one letter used in the LDO list is L, for exemple L/10 - L/11 etc.
In my opinion this case don't have anything in common with an EKII 1939. In the true I never seen this case used for an EKI / EKII 1914.

            Hi :
That is a nice S&L 2nd frame and 2nd core . Never seen a case like that .
12A could be a misstruck or other number ? A lot of these high numbers have S&L frames .

IMO, That looks like the second pattern stamp for a '123' - Beck, Hassinger & Co.
The '3' in the stamp can be easily mis-read as a '5' or as in this case maybe an 'A'.
The cross also has the rounded corners typical of a '123'.

              Regards - Danny

                Good eye Danny.
I'm in agreement with you here, it looks a good match to my example, frames and dates.

Thanks guys, not having seen it in person, i presumed the owner had good eyesight and it may have been a WW1 WW2 mix of frame and cores or something else romantic. Thanks for taking the time to look!

                  Mike
