The spange is a Floch (fake).

These combos are rare and tough to call at the best of times. No problem finding photos of them in wear all the same, usually by high ranking figures I find.

          Coa

The cross and Spange have been deemed fakes by very knowledgeable collectors. Just to add to the discussion, I'll say that I've seen a period one, and the joining was much better done - neat, by a jeweler, with no excess solder, etc.

To the seller: Can you please post the Niemann COA? I know these COA's have also been faked, and I for one am very interested in seeing a fake Niemann COA, to try and identify characteristics and hallmarks of it. I'm very sorry your set is the test-case, but I feel sure the documentation must be faked. It would also be of service to the entire community to show your COA.

          Thank you,
          Trevor

PS: I've had about $1,000 worth of EKs uncovered as fakes on this forum over the past 2 months, so don't worry, we all get taken in.
          Best regards,
          Streptile

It`s not the joining of the both pieces! The iron cross is a fake.Nothing mor or less.Just a fake(and not one of the better ones)I can`t say anything about the clasp(not my collecting field) but in this case I would like to see the COA,too......

              I don't know much about 194 ek1, but the clasp is definitely a Floch-fake...
So little hope for the combo......

I have a copy of this combo and the COA from 2007 when it was offered for sale by Kai Winkler, with the Niemann COA. The COA is the new type with hologram sticker.

As I don't own the cross, I wont post the COA - that is up to the seller 'Pep'... but it certainly dosen't look like a fake COA from what I can tell.

Unfortunately, the cross and the spange are of course well known rubbish.

yes, I too remember when Kai tried to sell this...
I could solder a perfect replica of this POS for about $30
Seller, send it back to Detlev!
                  regards

Nothing about this combo is worth anything. The best course of action is to seek a refund from detlev.
                    best wishes,

It would be nice to see a picture of the COA. I'm really trying to figure out why Detlev would have blessed this thing......

Thank you, pep. I apologize if I jumped to an incorrect conclusion by saying that the COA must be faked. I have no way to know whether is is, or not. But it seems a good match to the few genuine Niemann COAs I have.

I find this an intriguing thread. Why would this one have received a blessing from Detlev Niemann, and so recently? Any ideas, folks?
                            Best regards,

Are not the fake COA's so close to the real in detail they deceive?
