    Hi robert ;-)

MANY MANY MANY THANKS ;-) Very interessting -> So I can handle the EK1 item no. 6 as L/59, due to Alois Rettenmaier used components from different makers even the frames from S&L! I think I will create a list of possible components sharing and I will split it in core, pin-system and frame ;-)

Tomorrow I will show you all a very rare cross or cross combination ;-)

    Stay tuned

Yes Juncker had a slow start at the beginning . They relied first on S&L and then on W&L with whom they ended up having some kind of busines arrangment . This included EK dies ... to which we see the close resemblance . The engraver made 2 dies .. one for Juncker and one for W&L .
At first they may look the same , but there are noticable differences . The crunch bead being one and the crosshatching on the inside corners and the 3 Juncker frame flaws versa the one W&L frame flaw .Another comparison of the 2 crunch beads which are not flaws but were there from day one .

Item No. 7 --- EK1 mm L/18 with unusual pin system!

        Hi Douglas,

Many Thanks for your great explanation ;-)

Today I will post another interesting EK1, which might be very rare!

Here is my opinion to Item No. 7:
        - unusual pin system which S&L use sometimes
        - the core and frame could be also S&L but also seen @ 26 or L/18
        - the mm looks IMO OK, but the mark has not much space!

Did S&L made some EK1 for B.H. Mayer,
like B.H. Mayer did made for Godet some crosses? See the following link!

        http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=351271

I think this is an interesting EK1 ;-) I'm looking forward for your opinions ;-)

          Item No. 8 - EK1 w/o mm - ID ???

          No opinion to EK1 item no.7 ?!?!?

Ok let me see if the concentration of all my EK1 in one thread was a good idea ;-)

          Here is item no. 8 - EK1 w/o mm
          - the pinsystem was used IMO 26, L/15, L/59, L/18
          - there is some colour on the frame - is the core repainted after 1945?
          - there cross is magnetic
          - if it is an LDO maker, why is the mm missing?

What ID could be behind this cross? Is it a rare EK1 ???

            Stefan,

I can't add much in the way of discussion on either nos. 7 or 8, but I believe no. 8 has been repainted like you've mentioned.

              To item no. 8

But you should know the maker ;-) It is one of the RK maker ;-)
I think the number design "conecting end of both number 9" it is only known @ one maker ;-)

The one he might be thinking of is K&Q but the '1' does not match . The other maker with that heavy hook on the 3 would be Godet .

Item no. 8 is an umarked L/15 Otto Schickle.
This maker had much probems with the coating process.
It could be possibble that this maker also painted some crosse after assembly.
                    But who realy knows?!

Otto Schickle was one of the first EK2 maker and produced EK1 & RK as well.

                      Thanks Stefan,

Good for the files. I've compared your Otto Schickle EKI date (top) with a KC (bottom) by the same maker...

                          Hello :-)
I think the same, date and frame are typical by O. Schickle.

                              Hello

Here is my opinion to Item No.10:
                              - frame & number design textbook Deschler
                              - Swaz surface is glossy maybe polished
                              - cross is fat and very heavy
                              - core is magnetic

                              What is your opinion?

                                Hello 5tefan,
I see a cross 100% Deschler and Sohn, my favorite Hersteller.
