    DKiG cloth badge, any chance????

    Hey Guys,

Does this badge have any chance? Its missing the gold metal wreath. This came from an old man`s collection, but that of course means nothing!!

Any comments would be greatly appreciated

For sure not an official piece. Maybe some lovely house wife was doing a little work in the long cold evenings - at best! However, it looks 'contemporary'. But where's the date?

I don't think this is a piece that had originally a genuine metal wreath. If so, it is a fake. since it does not conform to any of the known styles.

              I agree.

This is not an original DK.

maybe the missing metal wreath was 'home made' too?
                looks pretty convincing...
                regards

The "aging" burns on the back are typical of pieces I have seen where the "age" is manufactured.

I have never seen an original where the Silver that outlines each straight edge of the Swastika does not end at each corner. The silver on this one looks like it’s one long piece that just keeps going . There’s also no sign of this ever having a metal wreath attached …no holes punched through the backing cloth in the right places.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

Thanks very much for all your answeres
I cannot say whether this piece ever had a metal wreath or not, but I would`ve thought that maybe the wreath had prongs of some sort, that would`ve been bend into the 4 cutouts on the edge of the circle?
Then again, I dont know what the wreath looks like on the rear?

So guys, I`m as mysified as everyone else here, and cannot make head or tail on its originality?? All I know is, that it was bought with alot of other items from a very old gentleman that had been collecting for years. Unfortunately, no history behind this one.
It may very well be one of those that had been home or front made, who knows??

                        Any other comments?

I would say Pakistani or Indian fake/reproduction.

The workmanship and materials are very typical of what one sees.

A UV test will determine its age. If it does not glow I would say it is from the late 60s
