    simple questions about mm's

I'm more into edged weapons so don't shoot me if this question sounds stupid, but since i'd like to buy an EK2 to put in my display case and Ciney fair is next weekend... :
-Do all EK2's have a mm in the ring? Or is it, like with daggers, possible to find authentic crosses without a mm?
-What things to look after when buying one? i heard there are more and more repro's on the market nowadays so any info would be welcome.
-Is it possible to replace the rings with the mm in? like place a real ring on a fake cross...

And if i have too much doubts i will just drink some fine beers and look for a EK2 on this site.

    Best,
    Godts

Yes. Many have no mark, and some marked ones are fakes.

A short answer: 3-piece construction (2 frame halves and a separate core), magnetic center, frame and core characteristics that match known originals. There are 1-piece and non-magnetic originals, but to start out just look for 3-piece magnetic ones.

Honestly, that's your best bet. There's plenty for sale at the moment.

I seriously doubt that you will be able to stop after buying just one EK...

    Hope this helps,

Buying an EKII from our e-stand is a good avenue for you. If you do happen to find one you like on a dealers site ask them to put it on 'hold' for you temporarily, for you to study. You might want to ask for additional photos. Post the photos here for review, then go back and secure the sale if it is original. You'll find that most well-established dealers of TR items deal in good EK's, but there are those that seem to 'slip in' from time to time. Save yourself the return hastle, and have it judged before you put your money toward it.
