IMO I agree it is a W&L, with very worn frame dies from looking at the photo!
The cross hatching is not right on the inner beading corners near the Swastika, and also the outer corner beading does not look like a Juncker as in all crossed up and helter skelter with known flaws....

Very interesting late cross war variation !!
It is a W&L cross . You have a very worn die strike from the W&L 2nd frame type that has been re-worked/ re-ingraved aswell .
The reworked 2nd die variant ...... it > no longer < has the outside corner 'webbing' and the crunch bead now has completly disappeared !
A harder to find variant !!!

For now 3rd generation frame , possibly a 4th one yet if it is not post war , still working on that .

It's a good looking cross, and one I would like to add to my collection. As you said, I see that they got rid of the webbing in the corners, and turned up with a very nice frame - a far cry for their earlier styles.

I agree with Robert on all counts! And Great work Douglass! You state 3rd Gen or possibly 4th Gen if not post war.... So have you pinned down three frame variants confirmed for W&L? and a possible 4th frame produced wartime?
I am WAY bigtime learning here jumping in eyes wide open! It makes me wonder how possibly rare this frame is as opposed to the first and second frame with all it's pretty hatching uglyness?

W&L frames and 3 cores are quite a project and the 4 frames I have seperated with at least 2 additional re-worked dies . Just to show the complexity with this one picture sample , that shows some of the various differences just using 3 frames only . Note the circled corners > in peticular how the dominant beading changes , interestingly not on all corners ...and 3 different cores ! Work still ongoing .....
