    My Zimmermann DK in Silver

    Hello folks,
Here is my DK in silver by Zimmermann. What is neat or interesting (at least to me) was how this item was obtained. Here is a very old link that talks about it: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ght=RK+des+KvK

    Regards,
    Jody

Very cool and nice piece Jody! I'm starting to get interested in these crosses.

I actually have a question while on the topic of DKs...I am interested in snagging one at some point in the near future. I have heard alot about a die flaw on the 9 o'clock area of the sunburst (or whatever it's called! lol). I have looked and looked and looked at DKs but I don't know what I am looking for, or at rather. Could someone explain or show exactly what that is? Maybe one of those excellent Robert Pierce like photos, with circles and description? Don't mean to hijack this thread at all but I would love to be able to fully understand what that is exactly and if that is on only certain makers or what!

            DK in Silver

            Hi Darrell,
You beat me to it. BTW, not all crosses have them or it is not as evident on some of them.

            Regards,
            Jody

                Thanks guys!

A little hard to tell from just a picture...is it a little blob, or is it an indent?

Is there a maker or group of makers that the flaw tends to be on the most, or is it just hit and miss?

It sticks out on the starburst. Indent on the die.

It shows up on most Light Zimmerman's and the Klein type.
Heavy Zimmerman's typcially don't exhibit this, but may depending on date of manufacture.

                    A VERY nice cross Jody,

One more shade of green and I'll be OD green! Just a beautiful piece.

Thank you for sharing this cross. I've always preferred the Silver DK to the Gold for some reason, and your photos have confirmed me in that conviction. Beautiful.
                        Best regards,

The scanner appears to be working great!
