EK2 Spange on 14EK2 - Opinions Requested on Authenticity and/or Maker

    Hi Spangen fans,

I've been looking around the forum at Spanges. It seems this area of EK collecting is something of a minefield.

For about 8 years, I've had this EK2 Spange affixed to a nice K.A.G. marked original 14EK2. The Spange is unmarked as far as I can tell, but I have not removed it from the ribbon. If necessary for identification, I can attempt this procedure, but I'd rather not as it might break the prongs.

    Four individually-applied prongs. Wingspan = 30.35mm. Overall height = 30.8mm.

So: Genuine? Maker? Any help is most appreciated.

    Thank you in advance
    Trevor
    Best regards,

      Thanks Jon,
Is it of a known variety? Any examples to compare it to?

So not a Floch or a Raptor, then?
It does seem a good match to the one pictured by Detlev Niemann, apart from the prong attachments. I see a few subtle differences, but these can be put down to wear no doubt.
          Everyone agreed?
          Any dissenters?
          Thanks Jon.

Looks to me like mine is based on this one:

...but I see differences, especially in the overall shape of the chest and the "veins" in the oakleaves.

Boy, Spanges are tough going, huh? I don't believe that one was listed as a COPY, in the way Detlev Niemann often does.

On the plus side, I can now begin the hunt for a good EK2 Spange... always fun to have a space to fill in the collection .
