"I'm really looking forward to Dietrich and George's EK1 book, then the EK2 book. The next trick is to get those two interested in the Imperial crosses -- now that would be a book!"

I just noticed that Geißler has vastly revised his famous Iron Cross book. 632 pages, 1600+ illustrations, some in color (all were b/w before).

Interesting! I just ordered my copy.

You can buy it here directly from the publisher. For sure an interesting book and another valuable addition to our hobby. I certainly will buy it!

Thanks Dietrich. Nice website/store there -- never saw it before.

I realized that I never updated this thread when the most important single reference for the 1939 EK1, The Iron Cross 1. Class by Dietrich Maerz and George Stimson, was published last year:

Discussed and justly praised in its own devoted thread HERE.
                    Best regards,

Shame - I tried to order from the publishers site direct, but for foreigners or non- German speakers, the billing instructions may as well be written in ancient Hebrew....

Does anybody have the new Geißler book in his hands and can make a statement about the differences of the "old§ Geißler book? Does it pay off to buy the new edition if i already own the old one?

                        many greetings.

                        Stefan

                          Hi Stefan,

I think the book was released on Monday, so probably few people have it... yet. But it is almost three times as long as the first edition, and has many photos in color. I bet it is quite different.

In any case I will report here when I have received it, probably in a week or two.
                          Best regards,

I just received Geißler's new book.

There are certainly some very nice photos, and some rare variants shown. It is a brand new book, with only some things the same from the first.

Overall, I think it is well worth having. But there are quite a lot of mistakes I see just after reading for an hour.
                            Best regards,
                            Streptile

How did you manage to get one? I have not even gotten an answer form Nickel!

May I kindly ask what Mr. Geissler's stand is regarding the B-Types form S&L .....
