I told myself I wouldn't get involved in this, but......I'll go public with it. No PM's behind the scenes for me.

If it's any consolation, I did some research on those 'other' forums to see for myself if our member was multi-posting there as well. You are absolutely correct. In fact on one forum our member has monopolized the first page with 15 seperate threads, and there are only 27 threads on this page. That's over half! On another forum it wasn't nearly as bad - only 6 out of 13 - nearing the half mark.

Stefan, I don't want to offend you, or anyone for that matter, but don't you think if everyone was like you we'd need a new server again? I like your photos and all, but there needs to be some 'meat' to your threads, not just the usual "What is your opinion?" I can understand you wanting to share your wares with the forum, but where does it end - when you've dominated the entire page? There needs to be a balance. This thread has caused two of our good members to consider leaving for good. That's not right. Stefan, you need to listen to the opinions of the other members, and Ben, you please need to hold fast until this dust settles. You've made your points. Hang around until you see the changes take place. I'm sure Stefan will listen to the reasoning of others. There are some serious issues here to consider. No one wants to push you out, Stefan. They're just asking you to consider cutting back on your 'singular' threads, or start an on-going thread in another forum here. That sounds reasonable. What do you say?

After I thanked the Stefan supporters in this thread, I saw he posted 10 crosses in separate threads.
That was when I decided to send 1 PM to the members involved, it was also a kind of " goodbye" .
No more, no less.
If I had written that in this thread, it would have lead to an endless discussion, but maybe I would have received more response.

What disappoints me most of all is that no one checked what I wrote, or even bothered to ask what was going on.
i don't pick a member for a personal fight or competition, you should know me better by now.

Instead of that you and others automatically encouraged Stefan to post more of his crosses, which he immediately did.
So basically you got what you asked for.

I have made up my mind, and cleaned up most of my threads.
Maybe I will be back someday, but as Luud already wrote, it won't be soon.
I hope Luud won't leave because of me, but I am gone for now.


@Darrell: I read that thread a while back, and it was a pretty good example.
Never thought of that because I was a bit pissed-off.

wow sad to hear you are leaving the forum Ben; you have been a great help to me in my time here. I hope one day you come back.

all seems a bit crazy, an over reaction; surely theres a way through this where we can have a positive outcome for all.

I hope Ben won't leave. I hope Luud wil stay here as well because many members really enjoy reading your posts, learning from you guys.

Also, I hope 5tefan will post his EKs but not 3-4 EKs a day and without any info.

We can't all be friends, but still, it feels terrible seeing old members leave becasue of this. Old members should be respected becasue of their wisdom on this field, and all the time they spent on the forum learing others, sharing... There wouldn't be a good forum without you guys.

This is an unfortunate situation all around, but one I think that's run its course, public discussion-wise.
I wish the best of luck to all involved and remind everyone that this Forum is always open to everyone who wants to discuss the "Crosses of the Wehrmacht." So I hope to see all interested parties contributing here in the future.
