I know what you are saying Douglas and know you studied the paints that had been used wartime!
But I choosed nowadays to avoid a one sided discussion and just let people judge themself.
But I will throw in a picture of an EK1 I bought with some more KNOWING it was halfway a restauration process and bought if for study.
On the left it was in the condition it was found, i also put a picture beside it how it looks now after years.
Now you maybe understand why I was bothered to see that scratch in the first place!Attached Files

Great explanation Luud, Good Work 5tefan! Your Eye for detail and willingness to help Us is invaluable! I have a long way to go!
I would have JUMPED on this cross without worries looking at the first post photos! I would still keep it knowing what I know now after your dissection!
The people doing these table top resprays better hope they are never exposed though! I wonder whare the cross was purchased, though this may have been done an owner or two back....And now I am going to have a look at all my EK's with new Eye for detail!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts 5tefan and Luud and Douglas!

But they still look different to me!
I reduce all pictures for my private use to 1600x1600 ;-)
For using the pictures on forums I reduce it to 800x800 and use an Stardust Image Encoder 2004 to reduce under 150 kb!
Attached you will find an outcut of an 1600x1600 image! Of course, the light situation can play a trick ;-)Attached Files
