Ribbon Info

I have recently aquired a few medals from a friend who's father collected them in Belgium during WW2, Amongst them is a WW2 Iron Cross. Although there seems to be plenty of material on the net re the cross itself I cannot find anything to tell me the significance of the ribbons colours.

I have come across many with the red black and white ribbon but the one i have has a Gold White and Black ribbon.

Can anyone shed a light or point me in the direction of some useful ribbon info.

There is also a ribbon that is orange in the center instead of red. Jim

Hi Jeff,
Welcome to the forum!
As Jim says, there are colour variations in EK ribbons, some are quite orange in colour, most though are found with the deeper red colour.
I've attached a couple of pics of court mounted crosses so you can see the colour difference.

I found 5 different coloring off the ribbon .
