Luud,
The one thing that really impressed me was the narrow crowns of each bead. To me it spelled out - a new set of dies/very little use. Could the factory have burned down before they really had a chance for much EKII production? Or possibly they never had a long-lasting contract with the EKII's.

I never saw a marked version, and I didn't see these either. Not hard, because I neverlook at unmaked ek's, but if they didn't make them long, it explains the clean strike.
I never saw or noticed that big bulb at the 3 o'clock (upper arm in the corner) on a Zimmerman.
Sadly It is really dark here.
This is the best I can see on a Zimmerman:Attached Files

Maybe more information will show upin the future. But very interesting ek2.

I suppose...I was very surprised when some of the senior collectors starting going on about it being a Zimmermann. I said, "OK". - I don't know. If you look at the very inside corners adjacent the swasi, all four, the single bead is missing from each corner, the bead that faces inward to the swasi. If this bead were there the frame would resemble the EKI very much. Like I say, the core from eMedals will be most revealing. I'm really hoping it matches. We'll at least be that much closer to a positive ID. Thanks, Luud.Attached Files

Just give him a heart attack When I photoshop with an EK1 or something like that
But I really want to see pictures of that cross, ASAP!

I think he is mad that we are ruining his thread
