    ek2 fake?

    Hi All,

I am thinking of buying this so I would like to know if it is genuine and possible the maker.

It has one very distinct mark; the beading in the lower right corner has a bead in 45 degrees, which also shows up on the frame on the back side.

    Any opinions are welcome!

    Thanks,

    Michel

Why do you want to buy pieces of an ek

It's very hard to tell much from the image supplied, but at a guess I would say it might be a '14' - L. Chr. Lauer.

Even I would buy one in those kind of pieces Luud but not the kind of pieces as the cross at the start of the thread!

Here is a whole L. Chr. Lauer EK2......

                      Is it marked?

O yes, that is a good one. Not very easy to find.

I already expected it to bemarked.
All the marked Lauers I had, had the same paint problem.
All the unmarked Lauers I had, the paint was perfect.
                            I don't know why....maybe coinsidence?

Here a picture of 3 of them.
Now one is in Roberts collection. I don't think he minds posting it

That is interesting! Maybe different manufacturing techniques coincided at the same time Lauer stopped marking their EKs or vice versa?
