And all this time I thought I had an extraordinary '39 silver cross. You're right in saying I need to study thoroughly before expressing my opinion. It would save me a lot of embarrasment.I think this one came in a lot that I bought from a dealer, six or seven crosses in one buy. If you're interested in seeing it up close I can send it to you for inspection. Just let me know, Luud.

I don't think you didn't study the cross enough, this is just one exception you could have been wrong.
I just checked the pictures very close when I saw that silver mark....I always get VERY suspecious when I see it.
I also have been so many times wrong in the past.
And probably will be wrong many times in the future. We all keep learning.

At the moment I am totally dedicated to my first love of collecting:
Ancient coins. I only keep checking here once in a while what is going on the EK world.

No need to apologise Robert, the forum is about expressing opinions and having them discussed. At least you're prepared to offer an opinion, not just on this but many other things as well and your knowledge along with Luud, Douglas, Daniel to name just a few has benefited myself in particular. I have followed and learnt from the thread and I'm sure many others have too. If we could all look at an EK and know everything about it then this forum would be a very quiet place.

Thank you Adrian, and Luud. Sometimes the most obvious slips right by you, as hard as you try to discern what's in your hands. Thank goodness that we have a good group of collectors who can share with you what they've learned from past experiences. I'm still learning, and I find that the more I learn, the more I realize how much I really lack. The EK forum is a very broad field of study. I'm thankful to be a member of this forum, and I really enjoy learning and sharing. Thank you both for your support. I appreciate your kind words. They're very uplifting.
