    Clamshell EK1

    Hi

this is the only pic I can get at the moment, do you guys think this is the infamous floch clamshell? Looks also like it was vaulted by owner.

    Floch?

Here's a Floch. I see differences, starting with the height of the date above the bottom beading.

      hi george

that date on the floch sits very low, on the floch i also notice on the 12 oclock center frame there is a dimple, is that normal on the copies?

also does the floch have the guidance pin on back?

Dion, it looks like an nice Deumer, but it's hard to tell from these pics.

Souval has learned from his mistakes though, there is a serise of Floch crosses where the date is set higher...
        (Same crappy date, btw)

        Best regards,
        Ben

Yes Ben, iam a bit worried to make the plunge, but I think iam going to, no risk no fun

one thing going for it in my book is the plating on the frame has that nice perios type look and wear.

I think that the "dimple" you're seeing is just a mark. It's not a feature on my two other Floch EK 1 repros. There's no stablizing pin on the Floch, either.
I'm with Ben. From what I see it looks like it could very well be a good Deumer.

Didn't see it at first, but the cross has an anti-rotation pin, which is very unusual with these clamshell-discs

It could be a " regular" Deumer SB with the disc replaced.

But you are right, no risk, no fun!!

              Good luck,
              Ben

yes you do not see the stabilizer ben, the person photoed it upside down.

thanks a lot for the help you two. if the deumer sb did not come with clamshell iam goig to leave it alone, i do agree though now , the cross itself is not a floch.

Well, the early ones did, but they lack the pin.
The later produced Deumer SB's had the regular discs and anti-rotation pin.

                  Best regards,
                  Ben
