    Spange 1st class unmarked l/16

    Hi,

i bought this clasp the last week. Do you agree, it's an unmarked l/16)

2nd question is the finish, the silver looks very bright, is this finish known? (The whole clasp looks to have a layer of copper under the silver finish, visible in the worn areas).

The hook clipped off, when it arrived at my home, maybe stressed by the pin

finish looks "uneven" in the pics, but is plain in natural light

        Looks like a cast fake.

Not the look that one would expect ofa clasp. I agree that it looks cast.

              Hi
not what you wanted to hear!
the hinge and pin are all wrong for this maker, and yes it does look cast
how does it look to you close up?
              regards
              jon

Try to get some better pics.
Looks like these were taken in direct sunlight, and that doesn't do this clasp good.
I would like to see those before I post my opinion .

                Best regards,
                Ben

                    Hello,

it seems as if the obverse of the clasp has been made of Buntmetall.
On the back I sughted the lost hook fatening mark as a circle. So it means that the hook was on a plate.
Unfortunately I have never seen a Buntmetall clasp or another decoration with a hook which has been soldered on plate an then on the reverse of the decoration (exept an EK1).

                    Best Franki

Better pictures would really be nice.

But when I look at the claws of the eagle, they are really mis-shaped.
The details of the head is all missing and it seems that the "1" in the date bar has the bottom part as an integral part of the "frame" of the bar.

The spange also seems to be mis aligned, leaning to the right, when wieved on these pictures.

                      /Flemming

                        Hi,

                        here're 2 new pics without a flash.

On the edges are clearly die marks visible, but can't capture them with my camera.

                          back

My guess would be a refinished original or a postwarstrike by S&L.
I don't think it's acopy based on the s&l design.
