    Non-magnetic iron cross 2nd class

    Hello,
I received today this iron cross, along with a very nice infantry assault badge and a wound badge. The other 2 were original according to members of this forum, and I saw no problems with the iron cross.

I bought them at a bookstore, so the seller didn't knew much about them. (in this case a positive thing) The seller offered them when I bought a german field bible.

I received the iron cross today and I first checked if it was magnetic. I panicked a bit when I noticed that it wasn't magnetic. I checked again and I noticed that it was made out of 3 pieces, so it does seems to be original.

Is that indeed true? I also have a non-magnetic ek1, but I don't reconise any brass on this one. Does anyone know from wich material this center might have been made and who might have been the maker?

I removed the ribbon for the photo.

    Thanks!

    Frank

Looks like a Juncker with a zink core. Edit: A very nice dross btw. Juncker because of the inner corner crosshatching, brass jumpring and "dipping right upper inner corner".

My opinion also, did you get a good price on it?

            Hello,
I payed the price of a normal unmarked magnetic-ek2. I planned to sell him, but now it turns out to be non-magnetic, I'll keep him ofcourse. It would be my first non-magnetic ek2.
It also has a very nice (used) and original ribbon.

I also posted this image with the Assmann IAB, but here are the medals he came with:

Nice group! What is the white residue around the dates? Is it polish or zinc pest? If it's the latter you might want to look in the conservation forum and find out the best thing to do with it.
