    Cased Grand Cross 1939

    Hello All,

    Firstly, look at the case...

    Then look at the catch...

Then lets have a look inside...

    Regards,
    Jay

Seems to me I have seen this type before.

Where the suspension ring appears to dip into the top of the cross.

    Dipping ring fake?

I'm only guessing and am probably wrong.

This appears to be a Rudolf Souval copy. Is it marked 800 or L/58,or is it marked at all?

I also think I have seen it before, the "1939" date is not right as well.

        Cheers

        Les.

From the comments of the other members I hope you didn't lay out a whole bunch of brass for this?

            Jay,

Do you have this case in your possession? To all intents it purports to be an adaption of sorts of the RK KVK case.

It is neither a Grand Cross from Juncker (the only official maker of the GC) nor is the case correct.

Is that the West Point example Dietrich? I need a visit there myself for the book.

No Marcus, nor GC at West Point. Only the Star.

Arh righty, I'm with you. I just recalled a thread of past where yourself and Marc went to WP and I remember seeing a closed red case on a desk and thought that was a GC.
