New forum member with my first post, hope I can pull this off! This is my EK1 that I bought from a vet a few years back. He told me he took it off a Luftwaffe Flak officer. I usually take war stories with a grain of salt but this one has been "padded out" with luft blue wool scraps and paper. The cross has been "vaulted" by the German officer and has tool marks on the reverse and solder from where it must have come apart a bit. The swastika looks brass but the center is magnetic. A well worn example, I really like this cross and just wanted to share her with you.
