    German cross in gold

I am attempting to post pictures of front and back of cross I mentioned before. Cannot seem to get more than one attachment. Pin on back has a 1. Medal is heavey. Has had all of the black removed from the sun burst. Does anyone have an idea what this would be worth as is?

Thanks for the comment. Do you have any idea what it might be worth?

            Value would be around $1800.00

With all due respect, I'd prefer to see a picture of the reverse before stating a value.

                Looks like a good "heavy"...1.

                Thanks,
                Mike

                  German Cross

                  Very heavy worn German Cross.

The storage between 1945 and today was not the best...

                  Price: EURO 1300 - 1500.

                  Walter.

Catch is broken off, pin is bent, pin has been re-attached, has a big gouge on the reverse. Would it still be worth what you quote?

Why are we discussing the value of a piece with only one obverse photo?

                        Exactly my point.

Reminds me of that thread a while back. 1 solitary picture of the obverse, which half the medal not showing. Everyone was slapping each other on the back at what a great piece it was ...

Please forgive me for digressing, but for ME, the photo brings up a never-ending discussion.....

I'm of the opinion that this would be a perfect candidate for a good cleaning. Not the kind that would remove the patina, just the accumulated grime that you can see around the swaz and edges of the wreath.

I've always thought that an elegant decoration like this deserves better than to be covered in muck.....I'm all for retaining the history of items like this, but I think that can be easily accomplished while retaining their dignity, as well....

                          Any thoughts?

                          Bob.
I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.....

First thanks to all who responded. Second I appologies for posting only the fron of the Cross. I must plead ignorance because for some reason I cannot figure out how to post multipal pictures stored on my computer. Here is the revers of the Cross. I am using the attachment as the vehicle to add pictures. It only allows me to post one picture. Darrell suggested I use the reply button but I can't evem find that. So hopefuly you will see the back of the Cross.
