    Could I have your opinions on the german iron cross 2 klas
    MARKED ON A RING "26" 3 PIECES CONSTRUCTION, 2 SILVER FRAMES & MAGNETIC IRON CORE

    It's a FAKE , don't think they marked them 26 but only marked them L/18

            Yeah, I don't like the way that first one looks.. The frame edges have that un-polished look indicative of the fakes.....I once had a "26" marked one, and it had casting bubbles on the frame edge, 12 o'clock arm, right corner.

            The second cross, however (the one in post #5), looks like it might be an un-marked "6" (F. Zimmermann). What say ye, collectors with more experience and knowledge than I?

                There are many reproductions out there but equally many fine originals. There are alot being sold on the estand at the moment so if you want to find a genuine example, take a look down there. Having said that though - buy the Zimmerman!!!!
