Hi Ben and others :
I had a good look at it : It always had been hard to determine S&L war time and post war crosses .
Various members have asked me that same question . Peticularly S&L - as they were the only company to produce the 57 version of the EKs and had old dies at hand to work from or even use . Did S&L now make this one or sold off old dies and some one recently refurbished and put back into use .????
Who did it ! ... may remain unanswered but ... there is something else that has not been dicused or looked at/mentioned here - at all . A very fine detail one normaly does not pay much or any attention to , ... The inside trimmed corners ! 2 different trimmers were used here . This can actualy be seen !( PS: Would this be any help in the S&L Knight cross war/post war debate ??)
Based on these findings below I look at the posted EK1 as - post war made . Core probably had been sitting around awile with fine surface rust - powder blasted and painted ??
