                    IMO 100% authentic

I had only seen one other of these ever, and it totally confused me until today...

I picked this up, thinking it was an early unmarked L/16, but looking closer it isn't

                    IMO it's a super rare unmarked L/53
I'm over the moon. I never thought these even existed!!!
Only 2nd class spangen from L/53 have surfaced until now. They're quite known for being 'out-there' makers too, pretty rare, ugly, and bizarre hardware

The hardware on this spange matches other marked L/53 hardware (WBs, GABs, IABs etc) the finish matches the other 2nd class L/53 marked spangen, the mishapen swastika etc. and especially the 'brassy' look. It makes logical sense that L/53 made 1st class, aswell as 2nd class spangen, however rare

I'm totally convinced this is an authentic unmarked L/53 spangen
and it's going to the grave with me
                    what ye think?

                    regards
                    jon

now, if I find an L/57 EK1 spangen I can die happy (well, happier)

Pretty Good pitch You make on this Jon! I hope you are right!!! I am still learning about these and have gathered alot from you!
The eagles Eye is beedy looking and it looks like he is looking down and behind in terror.
I wonder if other members have examples that they beleive may be a fake? Due to the hardware set up, Look of the Swastika, Eagle etc and have not posted photos fearing the worst!
I look forward to the other Spang experten's thoughts! This could be a 'Go to Thread' in the future regarding the "Unknown Maker"!
                              Kevin
