    rare find after 25 years

Fellow members ,Jack-pot! After running a buisness for 18 years removing the contents of attics, cellers etc I found gold. A woman whos husband a ww-2 vet and who died was moving out of state. She threw out a card-board box with the following:
Knights cross of the iron cross
Knights cross of the war merit w/swords
    U-boat badge (late war)
    Close combat(bronze)
    Brest eagle (wire)
Wooden figure of women with kriegsmarine clock inset
WW-1 badge with crown and center with blackand white crisscross within a red square.
No doubt the the 2nd listed is rare if ANGOLIA is correct 118 total awarded with swords. Does any other forum member have one? I wonder how many survived and is there a forum that registers the owners of these? Any help or comments would be appreciated. Skippy

    Skippy,
You have to post some pictures. Don't leave us in limbo.

The Knight Cross of the War Merit Cross is indeed more rare than the Knights Cross, I've got one without swords in a box.

Several members have one boxed and unboxed, the award it's self is not as desirable as the RK amongst collectors I believe, thus very much cheaper to buy.

But what a find well done and congratulations.

        Kind regards,

        Marcus

            Photos soon

Photos of my recent find will come soon. 58 years hidden in a yellowed snot rag in the bottom of a cardboard box.My dad,aWW 2 D-Day vet had a Knights cross but threw it in the Rhine off the Remagan bridge. These items and others will be sold in the future hopefully to forum members because my health isnt the best lately (combat vet-Vietnam) exposed to agent orange.Between buisness and trips to the V.A. I cant get online every day but will do my best.
