RK Ribbon Loops

What is the concensus about the ends of Knight's Cross Ribbon (suspension) Loop. Should the ends be rounded; should they be tapered to a point? In particular, on an L/12 Cross, is a tapered end acceptable? Not straight tapered to a point, but more like a beveled point.

I always thought that they were supposed to be rounded but not realy my area so would like to hear comments on this.

Looks like a nice Junckers with the cross hatching effect though.

Hey Monsieur Miller,
I believe both cases are acceptable, but would agree for tapered end on L/12 - on my L/12 I have the same ring - But I also know Rounded end .

Francois & Andy- Thank you. Also, The Niemann Katalog shows an L/12 with this same type of beveled end.

Unfortunately, too late. I used a heavy rasp file last night to square off the end. I only damaged the upper arm of the RK a little bit. (That was a joke.)

Good morning all! Not to worry as both are ok! However, I would prefer to see the finely rounded and buffed ends on the earlier "L/12 + 800" marked crosses. The latter "2 + 800" and the simpler marked "800" would seem more likely to have the (production) short-cut of merely buffing a simple angle rather than cutting, rounding and then buffing to aquire the 'jewelry' level look of these finely finished ends! I know about leftovers etc. in manufacturing and probably more 'rounded' loops were produced than the (currently) running RK line so, please understand I'm not saying that it is wrong it is only a 'thought' to add to this discussion!
